Owner/ Beauty therapist

Kimberley has been working as a beauty therapist since 2003 and has been the owner of Salon M beauty since 2009. Affectionately referred to by her clients as the “eyebrow queen” of Newcastle Kimberley is fully qualified to the highest level in every aspect of her work. Kimberley’s qualifications and areas of expertise include HD Brows, Brow Lamination, Bronsun Dye, Microdermabrasion, Gel Bottle nails, Hot waxing, Tinting, Elim Luxury Pedicure, Elleebana Lash Lifts, plus much more. Kimberley’s professionalism and experience have ensured that she has built up a loyal clientele over the years, so to book with Kimberley we strongly recommend booking in advance. Nigel

Owner

Nigel is the owner of the salon and started his journey in the industry in 2001. Originally working as an account manager for Wella in Glasgow he was then promoted to Newcastle and had a successful career in his home town. In 2007 he was headhunted by TIGI and had a further 2 years as a key account manager. Using all of his knowledge gained form years of dealing with salons and attending training courses, Nigel decided to open his own salon in 2008. The salon grew from strength to strength and eventually branched out in to beauty, and further hair salons. With a love for the business aspect of the industry, Nigel oversees the finance and marketing of the salons including the website, social media, figures and accounts etc.

Although not a hairdresser, Nigel has gained enough experience to fully understand colour and the mechanics of hair salons.

Sara

Manager/Director

Sara started hairdressing in 2001 and as the salon manager is our most experienced stylist. Fully qualified to NVQ level 3 Sara also has a city and guilds barbouring qualification. With a wealth of experience and knowledge in colour Sara is also a Wella master colour expert which is the highest colour qualification available with Wella (the worlds number 1 supplier of permanent colour). There are only 3,900 stylists in the UK with this qualification, which makes up only 1% of current active stylists. Colour is her passion and she loves creating and re creating fresh new looks. Sara’s love of colour also propelled her to the regional finals of the exclusive Wella trend vision competition. As our salon head technician Sara is fully qualified to handle any colour query and create the desired look for all occasions.

Alexis

Senior Stylist

Alexis joined Salon M in May 2023 all the way from South Africa. Hairdressing since 2016, Alexis built up a huge clientele and instagram following back in her home city. We are delighted Alexis chose Salon M to come to work at as we feel her very unique, quirky look and warm personality will endear her to her clients (also we love her accent). Fully experienced in all of our services, Alexis is also trained with Wella colour (which we use). Now also fully qualified in extensions, Alexis is very adept at fitting wefts and nanos. With a true love and passion for the industry, Alexis is a perfect fit for Salon M.

Alexis is really building her clientele here at the salon. This is due to her fantastic work, her great communication skills and her superb instagram @hairbyalexiscarse. Go and check out her work and see all of the fabulous transformations she has been doing.

Alisha

Stylist

Alisha joined the team in August 2023. Having trained at House of Savanah in Newcastle, her career path took her north of the border to Berwick and then back to Newcastle. Fully qualified to NVQ level 2, Alisha loves the on trend cuts and colours and also loves fitting extensions. Living and working in Newcastle gives Alisha a great understanding of what is currently hot and what is not.

Erin

Stylist

Erin joined Salon M in January 2024 as a fully qualified hair stylist. With her NVQ level 1, 2 and 3 Erin is competent in all aspects of colouring and cutting. With a quirky look and infectious happy personality, Erin is tailor made for Salon M. She is also somewhat of a bob specialist, which is quite rare for a stylist so young.

Elle

Stylist

Joining Salon M in March 2024 Elle has completed her level 1&2 NVQ hairdressing and is fully qualified in all aspects of hair. Working at Lulus salon (alongside our very own  former stylist Lucy), Elle is highly creative and describes “lived in” blondes and balayage as her specialities. Also having a passion for hair ups (which is a rarity these days) this enables Elle to provide those perfect styles for weddings, proms and the races etc.

Harley

Hot Chocolate Connoisseur

Harley has been coming to the salon since he was a baby with his Daddy Nigel the owner. He loves getting his cool hair cut on a Saturday and helping himself to hot chocolate and marshmallows.

Amber

Mannequin head destroyer

Amber has been coming to the salon with her Daddy Nigel the owner since she was a baby. She loves to pester the girls to do her plaits and play hide and seek. She also loves to eat the teacakes that we have for the clients.
